Our restaurant “Louis
XIV” was dedicated to the French King, also known as “Sun
Royal”.His name stands for an excessive Life-Style but
at the same time for nobleness and effusive beauty in all respect.
Legendary State-Receptions at Versailles-Castle by a decadent
State of Court could not be topped. Good eating and drinking was
Standard and very often it ended in a lavish feast, mildly spoken.
Historian claim that the French Cuisine found its roots during
the time of the almighty regent.
Exceeded financial-budgets by Ministers were treated with severe
Punishment, including expelling from Court. Different set of rules
applied for his Master-Cook. He could hope for a mild reaction
by his own Master, when he pointed at expensive but delicious
sauces. However he was reminded on his performance of ones duty,
to always create new Menus, in order to repair his “Faux
Pas”.
In our restaurant “Louis XIV” we do not want to
give an impression of decadence, just a Touch of Flair from Versailles
and the easy handling of Lucullic Pleasures from a good Kitchen.
Every Gourmet knows, that great enjoyment on the dining-table
is created by a Symbiosis between food and wine.
A wide assortment of Wines of all kind has been arranged, mainly
tested and procured for you during my visits to the Origins.
